This is an SAE Motor Vehicle Council draft document of the DSRC committee, subject to change.
This application shall transmit its messages using an Application Class ID (ACID) of “5”, as defined by IEEE
1609.4 or its successors, and an Application Context Mark (ACM) of “3”.  Probe Data is a one-way communication
stream, vehicle-to-RSE, with no acknowledgements sent back to the vehicle by the RSE.  Multiple applications are
expected to be found operating in overlapping local coverage areas. Probe Data messages shall have an
application priority of “0” (low) for all vehicle types.  The application control field (ACF) of this application shall be
set to __?__  (explain any needs here).  The default repetition rate for unicast Probe Data messages is to be one
new message set when the OBE encounters a new RSE.  This repetition rate may be modified utilizing the Probe
data Management Message describe above.
